Tips for preparing for your photoshoot:
Here’s some tips for the photos:
- I’ve found that darker tops can often look good. Long sleeves and pants might be a good choice so you’re comfortable and not too cold.
- Wear clothing that flatters you and makes you feel at your best. Avoid sleeveless clothing and try to avoid obvious logos. Try for something that looks good and makes you comfortable.
- Coordinate your outfits but don’t match perfectly! This will give your portraits a unified, elegant look while still letting the personality of both emerge.
- Try to avoid anything too trendy as in years to come you might look back at the photos with a bit of embarrassment!
- Go with simple, solid colors. Patterns will distract from the focus of your photos — you!
- Decide on an overall look for your portraits. Fo you want a more formal or a casual feel? Make sure to avoid one person being much more formal or much more casual than the other!
- Take the weather into consideration! It may sound simple, but wearing short sleeved attire on a chilly day will only lead to forced, cold faces! Dress so you both will be comfortable.
- Want a theme for the portraits? Get creative! If there is something that symbolizes you as a couple, bring it! Bring your pet(s), kid(s), jerseys of your favorite sports team, etc.
- Try to be rested and as “non-stressed” as possible. It can show in the photos!
